ILEA completed a Protection Detail Course

The International Law Enforcement Academy, ILEA San Salvador, closed the academic year 2018, with the Protection Detail Course, imparted by instructors from the United States Secret Service (USSS).

Thirty-five law enforcement agents from Bahamas, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, and El Salvador, were benefited from this important learning experience. It's important to mention that the participating delegation from Panama will provide protection services to Pope Francis for the 2019 World Youth Day in Panama.

The course focused on presenting to the participants the basic protection procedures, including techniques employed to provide security to dignitaries and high-level personalities. also, covered topics such as advanced cover operations, emergency response medicine, site advance operations, tactical protection formations and displacement, and explosion and arson response.

The ILEA San Salvador authorities are gratified with the all  work developed by the institution personnel during the current year, it made possible to enrich the participants formation with knowledge and skills to improve the regional security, through the courses focused on Human Rights, Human Trafficking, Drug Trafficking, Migration, Environmental Issues, among others,  successfully graduating 1,120 law enforcement agents from Latin America and the Caribbean.
