ILEA closed two momentous training courses: The Hate Crimes course and the Anti-gang Course

On this day, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador) closed two very important courses the first of which was the Anti-gang Course taught by the National Civil Police, and the second one, concerning Hate Crimes, was taught by professionals of the Police Department of the City of Atlanta (APD).

Both courses were part of the ILEA San Salvador training schedule and benefited 70 law enforcement officials from Argentina, Brazil, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and El Salvador.

The Hate Crimes course compels law enforcement professionals to focus on addressing the crimes that are based on prejudices or cases where the perpetrator attacks a victim for allegedly belonging to a certain social group, race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation, among others.

The Anti-Gang course had as its main objective the training on new communication trends among antisocials, international networks and investigative techniques to curb the proliferation of gangs in the region.

The governments of El Salvador and the United States of America foster this type of trainings, in order to promote respect for Human Rights and reduce crime.
