ILEA held a course on Tactical Safety and Planning

The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador) concluded the course on Advanced Tactical Safety and Planning led by the Drug Enforcement Administration of the United States of America (DEA).

35 law enforcement officers from the Bahamas, Belize, Brazil, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were the prime recipients of this important training on safety and planning tactical moves implemented in operations against organized crime.

The course lasted two weeks and was aimed at outstanding participants from anti-narcotics units in charge of operations. The training covered the following areas: Techniques for planning and introduction of narcotics, operational planning and instruction, risk assessment, arrest techniques, defensive tactics including ground-level self-defense and personal weapons, firearm security, basic tactical medical trauma skills, vehicle-related arrests, as well as ethical and legal considerations when using force.

For the most part, the participants undertook intense outdoor training, practicing in the academy's state-of-the-art facilities.

ILEA San Salvador is confident this kind of training is a positive contribution to society, providing law enforcement officers with professional and technical learning to apply in their daily efforts for justice, peace and democracy to prevail in their respective countries.
