ILEA closes program for wildlife trafficking investigators

After two weeks of intense training, the Wildlife Trafficking Investigators Program was finalized by instructors from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS).

Twenty-six law enforcement officers representing Bahamas, Guyana, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and El Salvador participated in this training and had the opportunity to put into practice, through fieldwork, the knowledge acquired in case management, digital and scientific evidence collection, crime scene processing and forensic techniques that would enable them to carry out successful investigations.

During the closing ceremony, we had as a special guest the representative of the Zoological Foundation of El Salvador, Yanet Mejía, who received, from students and instructors, an economic donation to strengthen the work of the institution preserving wildlife in the country.

In this way, as ILEA San Salvador, we reaffirm our commitment to continue watching over the protection of the environment and to prevent wildlife crimes.
