ILEA commemorated International Women's Day and trained women leaders

On International Women's Day, society is called upon to further advocate for gender equality and take deeper action to prevent violence against young and adolescent girls and women, including through participation in justice sector initiatives to eradicate all forms of abuse. To mark this occasion, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA - San Salvador) successfully wrapped up the course on Leadership for Women in Law Enforcement.

Forty-two women from El Salvador, South America and the Caribbean islands took part in an event that highlighted the extraordinary work of each of the women attending in overcoming obstacles and changing patriarchal and unjust systems in their different countries.

The course also addressed a broad content, encompassing the areas of leadership with an emphasis on emotional intelligence, the challenges for today's women, understanding human behavior and law enforcement, among others.

The closing remarks for this far-reaching event were provided by the chair of the National Judicature Council, Ms. María Antonieta Josa, who expressed her satisfaction with the way in which these women and girls uphold the steadfast commitment to the struggle for equal rights among men and women.
