The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador), in coordination with the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the   United States of America Embassy (INL), carried out a workshop this afternoon to commemorate the #InternationalDayoftheGirlChild

The workshop was held virtually, under the instruction of Graciela Sagastume, coordinator of the Women's Unit of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), who spoke to the young participants about gender violence,   the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents Act (LEPINA), and the rights and duties of children.

This important talk was attended by 30 adolescents representing the five centers of the Supérate Program, who are already part of our Youth Violence Prevention Program. The director of ILEA San Salvador for the Government of the United States of America, Philippe Furstenberg, gave a brief speech to the young women, where he highlighted the importance of advancing towards gender equality, in order to achieve the full development of democracy in the countries of the region.

"Let's embrace the idea that today's girl leaders will be tomorrow's leaders, breaking down barriers, accomplishing goals and occupying positions in which they are hardly represented today," emphasized the head of the academy.
