ILEA San Salvador graduated 70 law enforcement officials from Latin America

The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) closed two successful courses titled Protective Detail Course and Crime Scene Management and Forensic Work, with the collaboration of experts from the United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Seventy law enforcement officials from Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and El Salvador benefited from the very valuable information presented in the course, which highlighted topics that will help law enforcement officials combat transnational crime in a more professional manner.

The Crime Scene Management course focused on the development of adequate techniques for the management, documentation and recovery of evidence in general. The course also covered topics such as documentation, administrative delegation and assignments, crime scene photography, sketching, security issues, and recovery and safeguarding of physical evidence, such as trace evidence and fingerprints. The course included practical exercises, and emphasized various simulated scenes of homicides.

As for the Protective Detail course, participants received special protection training and techniques used to provide protection to different levels of dignitaries and important persons. The course had the attendance of the bodyguards of the President of Panama, Mr. Juan Carlos Varela Rodriguez.

The Director of ILEA San Salvador, for the Government of El Salvador, Juan Henriquez, urged the participants to continue fighting the crimes that cause so much harm to our nations.
