ILEA trained officials from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador on Combating Gangs

On this day, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador), closed the course for Transnational Anti-Gang Units, through which 35 law enforcement officials, from Guatemala Honduras and El Salvador, were trained by professionals of the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States of America (FBI).

The course lasted a week and, in that time, the participants shared ideas with experts from the Government of the United States of America and with members of the Transnational Anti-Gang Units in the region on efforts to both identify and document best practices to combat gangs.

It should be noted that this workshop was aimed at members of the Criminal Investigation Units and Transnational Anti-Gang Units. Individual nominations to attend this course were issued for those members who directly benefit from the knowledge shared in this training and who are able to implement what they have learned at ILEA in their respective units of work, as well as share the knowledge acquired with other colleagues upon return to their duties.

The Director of ILEA San Salvador for the Government of the United States of America, Brent Brown, congratulated the participants and urged them to continue fighting this transnational crime through prevention work on gangs.
