The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador), concluded today its course on computer and network intrusions, which had the participation of justice sector officials from Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guyana, Suriname, Uruguay, and El Salvador.
This course on cybercrimes was taught by experts of the United States Secret Service (USSS) and had a duration of two weeks.
The training course is an introduction to the investigation of electronic crimes that included the following topics: computer hardware, operating systems and files, the Windows command prompt, networks and the internet, cybercrime and malware, information security, email tracing, internet resources, and management of electronic evidence. Practical exercises were also employed as a teaching method.
ILEA San Salvador recognizes the importance of this course and seeks to provide more training sessions of this type, in order to help strengthen the investigative processes and foster the exchange of experiences and information to combat this crime form in the region.
