ILEA closed course on Financial Investigation Techniques

ILEA finished the Financial Investigation Techniques workshop , delivered  by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States of America to 40 law enforcement officers from Bahamas, Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and El Salvador.

The teaching program was based on  the United Nations international standards, the GAFI  and other intergovernmental bodies for investigating and solving financial crimes. In addition, methods such as lecture with guided discussion and research studies were used to provide a better training overview for the students.

In addition, they explored methods to follow the money trail and identify assets for confiscation in order to calculate the amount of illegal proceeds through financial investigation and forensic accounting techniques to identify and solve crimes where financial gain is the primary motive.
