Thanks to the collaboration of the United States Secret Service (USSS), the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador) successfully closed its Computer and Network Intrusions course with 35 law enforcement officials from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Suriname, and El Salvador.
With the growth of social networks, computer attacks are becoming more frequent and sophisticated. Network users demand more protection and security, in this area, through early detection methods against any attempt of intrusion.
In light of the above, ILEA San Salvador contributes with training, at an intermediate level, for law enforcement professionals, in order to complement their knowledge of technology.
Participants learned about tools and techniques to collect and analyze a variety of volatile and semi-volatile evidence in a scientific manner, which applies to multiple cyber-crimes and is useful for examining both victim and suspect computers. Issues such as computer crimes and telecommunication fraud were also explored, with special emphasis on current international schemes.
ILEA San Salvador is an institution that has the best tools and personnel to carry out courses of this type, which help in a specialized way in the fight against computer crimes in the region.
