Today, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador), held the closing ceremony of the advanced course on Counternarcotics Investigations, which was developed in person for a week.
The training was delivered by experts in the field from the Drug Enforcement Administration of the United States of America (DEA), and 30 law enforcement officers from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, Uruguay and El Salvador participated.
The objective of the course was to provide traditional and specialized techniques for complex drug-related investigations and criminal organizations operating at the regional level. Some of the topics covered included the handling of confidential sources, case studies, undercover operations, and security in clandestine laboratories.
During the graduation, some delegations presented awards to the authorities of ILEA San Salvador as a token of their appreciation for the knowledge received and for the importance given to the professionalization of law enforcement in Latin America and the Caribbean.
