The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador), closed this Friday the last two in-person courses of the year, the Advanced Course on Special Anti-Gang Investigations and the course on Kidnapping Investigations.
The former was given by instructors from the National Civil Police, the Attorney General's Office and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), as part of the joint work carried out by the institutions responsible for ensuring security and justice in El Salvador.
Thirty law enforcement officers from Bahamas, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica and El Salvador participated in this training, which was held for the first time, and gave the participants access to key knowledge in the fight against criminal groups, such as the criminal incidence of gangs, their forms of communication and organization and criminal investigation methods.
The course on Kidnapping Investigations was given by experts in the field from the Colombian National Police, who instructed the participants on investigation techniques derived from an analysis of different behavioral patterns, to help in the resolution of this type of crime. The attendees of this training were 25 law enforcement officers from Argentina, Belize, Panama, Uruguay and El Salvador.
