ILEA trained 60 law enforcement officers on counter-narcotics investigations

The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador) developed two consecutive courses on counter-narcotics investigations from 20 to 31 May under the direction of instructors from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The countries benefiting from such important training were Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Chile, Haiti, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Suriname, and El Salvador.

During the arduous training days, topics such as drug identification and field testing, case initiation and development, surveillance, confidential source management, interviews and interrogations, written reports, raid planning exercises, and tactical training for undercover operations were studied.

With this type of effort, ILEA San Salvador is guaranteeing the professionalization of the security forces for the effective fight against transnational crime, which is the main commitment of our institution and of the countries participating in our programs.
