Today, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador) concluded the week with a course entitled International Post Blast Investigation, which was delivered by experts in detonations from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, United States of America (ATF).
Law enforcement officials from Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and El Salvador completed this important training during two weeks of arduous fieldwork at Changallo, Ilopango.
The course focused on theoretical and practical classes at the range which included bombed scenarios as well as live explosive operations, designed to complement the techniques presented in the classroom.
Instructors focused on showing participants safe and appropriate techniques for recovery, transport, storage and disposal of explosives, which included an introduction to explosive materials.
ILEA San Salvador believes in this type of training for reinforcing investigative processes, as well as for exchanging experiences and information in combating transnational crime in Latin America.
