ILEA San Salvador trained officers on cybercrime and clandestine drug labs

The International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA San Salvador), closed this day two important courses to strengthen the fight against transnational crime in the region. After two weeks, the course on Cyber Investigation and Exploitation culminated with the participation of 27 law enforcement officers from Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay and El Salvador.

This training, which was developed jointly by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Secret Service, focused on instructing agents on how to implement technology and provide cutting-edge tactics to meet the needs of cyber investigation, enhancing their skills for successful arrests, seizures and prosecution of criminal organizations.

In addition, the course on Emerging Synthetic Drug Trends and Production Techniques, which the DEA taught for one week to 24 officers from the Bahamas, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador, was also completed. The purpose was to provide technical forensic information on drug production using clandestine laboratories, through new processing methods and novelty precursors.
